Hasbro Indiegogo Next Great Game

We’re excited to announce our latest collaboration with Hasbro, a leader in gaming and one of the world’s largest gaming companies and behind many of your favorite games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, The Game of Life and Battleship. But beyond the classics, Hasbro is also focused on discovering and developing new games and believes that fresh, innovative game ideas can come from anywhere.  That’s why Indiegogo and Hasbro are teaming up and turning to the crowd to find the next great face-to-face party game.

From now until September 25, 2015, game designers nationwide can share their ideas via the Next Great Game Challenge. Finalists will be chosen on September 30 and will launch their Indiegogo campaigns on October 30 to crowdfund their ideas and build fan support. These campaigns will be featured on the Indiegogo-Hasbro partner page and will run until December 1, at which time Hasbro will select a grand prize winner. All ideas will be evaluated by a team of Hasbro game experts and designers who will be looking specifically at factors like gameplay mechanics, story and theme, potential for “fun-ness” and viability.

The grand prize winner will receive $10,000, a trip to Hasbro headquarters to meet with and work with the game development team to help make his or her party game a reality.

As the world’s largest crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo provides a space for people to validate their innovative ideas and turn their dreams into reality. We’ve seen many excellent gaming campaigns, such as Reservwars, an exciting real-time strategy video game, Age of the Tempest, a tabletop fantasy roleplaying game for beginners, and EduStack, an educational card game for math and astronomy. From video to tabletop, strategy to card games and more, these types of campaigns demonstrate how creative and talented our campaigners are. We’re certain that together, Indiegogo and Hasbro can find the next great classic game.
