Last month, we announced Hallowfund, an opportunity for campaigns created between October 15th and October 31st to win $500 if they raised at least $100 by November 10th. Many incredible campaigns got started and are on their way to empowering campaigners to accomplish their goals.
Today, we’re excited to announce our 5 randomly-selected winners! They will each be receiving $500 for their campaigns. We can’t wait to see their finished projects!
A New York Carol with Austin Pendleton
A theatre troupe is raising money to stage their rethinking of Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol — in which Scrooge will be confronted with the streets of modern New York City. Acclaimed actor, writer, and thespian, Austin Pendleton, is contributing his talents to the production to help make it a success!
Lyeric’s Artist Alley Campaign
Atomic Warriors: A Folk Musical
Another theatre troupe — this one from St. John’s, Canada — is putting together a funny folk musical with a serious message: Stop uranium mining in Labrador, Canada. A nuclear disarmament activist gets together with a guy who could care less about her cause — is a “meltdown” inevitable?
In loving memory of Brian and Raphael Saechao
In the wake of a tragic accident that took the lives of Brian Saechao and his son, a group of friends have joined together to raise money to cover funeral expenses and support Brian’s pregnant wife. Because Brian was a fan of comics, artists are contributing their work to make the campaign superhero themed.
Roaming Wild: Post-Production
Sylvia Johnson is leading a team of filmmakers to finish a documentary that follows a variety of perspectives on the subject of wild horses in the American West. From letting them run free to eating them for dinner, the wild horses issue is complicated, and Sylvia needs the crowd’s help to share it with the rest of the world!
