As part of Indiegogo’s continued effort to support Hurricane Sandy recovery, we are partnering with MTV to present, “Restore the Shore,” a live telethon (and online event) airing at 11PM ET on Thursday, November 15th. All money raised will go toward rebuilding Seaside Heights, New Jersey — the heart of the Jersey Shore and home to its iconic boardwalk. This is the first time MTV has partnered with a crowdfunding platform to offer fans an alternative way to raise funds for a good cause — while offering them fun perks as a “thank you” for their donation.
The cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” will be joined by dozens of celebrities — from Taylor Swift and No Doubt to Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian — to help tell the stories of the hurricane’s victims and collect as many donations as possible. Tune in live on MTV, MTV.com, MTV mobile, and MTV radio at 11PM ET (tape delayed for PT on MTV).
In addition to the star-studded live event, Indiegogo will also be hosting a donation page for MTV where people can contribute to the effort and pick up incredible perks. The page is live now and ready for donations! The cast of the “Jersey Shore” and other hit MTV shows will be calling random contributors from Indiegogo to personally thank them for supporting the cause from 4pm until midnight (ET). All donations $25 or over will get an exclusive song bundle from MTV, featuring 30 songs from the “Jersey Shore” series. For $500, you can get your name on the new Seaside Heights boardwalk!
Indiegogo and PayPal will be waiving all fees to make sure 100% of funds contributed go to Architecture for Humanity, a New York-based nonprofit design and construction firm, who will be instrumental in the rebuilding of the Jersey Shore.
