Indiegogo staffers are putting crowdfunded products to the test in our new series of honest reviews. In this review, our very own campaign strategist Sean Dicke unboxes and tries out Zendure’s SuperMini GO, a versatile and stylish new power bank that looks like a retro camera. So how does it work? Read on as we put it to the test!
I am a consumer electronics fan, but have never owned a power bank that I’ve kept for more than a few weeks. When Zendure, the team behind SuperMini GO offered to send me a unit to try out, I jumped at the chance. I’ll be reviewing this from the lens of someone who has used power banks in the past, but has never been a fan…until now!
Unboxing
I was quite impressed with the Apple-inspired attention to detail in the packaging. When I saw and felt the product for the first time, I was rather surprised. It definitely looks and feels like a camera, and fits in my hand just like one. At first, I didn’t really understand the intention behind the design, but it grew on me. It’s not like some other power banks that are just a block with sharp corners. This one felt great in my hand, just like a camera would! The surface finish was a nice surprise as well. It feels very durable, but also clean and modern. Overall, I give it a 10/10 experience unboxing! I also liked the QR code on the side of the box to scan for more information and use cases.
Using the power bank
Confession time: I actually started using the power bank before even reviewing the instructions. It’s that easy to use, and it even came almost fully charged which was a pleasant surprise. The magnetic wireless charging is definitely the best part! I’m used to seeing people carrying around these bulky power banks and often dropping them because they are not attached to the charging device. No more dropping chargers or having my hands full!
The screen on the back is a really nice, and stylish touch! I love how it becomes hidden over the chrome when it’s turned off. It’s nice to know exactly what the charge status is with the power bank as well.
It was also really nice to change the charging speed. I was impressed with just how fast it could charge my iPhone 12, all I needed was 15-20 minutes on the charger and it was good for the whole day!
Who is this for?
I’d argue to say anyone with a smartphone! Like I said, I was not the biggest fan of power banks, but now use the SuperMini GO everyday. I can’t wait to put it to use when I travel and go camping. We’ll see just how durable it is then. I’ve already dropped it a few times and not even a scratch.
Final Thoughts
The SuperMini GO is a beautiful modern twist on power banks. It is a great gift idea too! Show your support for the campaign, and back it now on Indiegogo if you want to get it.
