Several months ago we announced our exciting partnership with arts support organization Fractured Atlas. Today we want to again provide you with some information on how to take advantage of this fortunate parternship.

Fractured Atlas is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the arts by offering fiscal sponsorship and other support to creatives, like health insurance, online courses, special offers and discounts.

If your IndieGoGo project is artistic in its scope and you qualify for sponsorship by Fractured Atlas, this is an amazing way to take advantage of some of the additional benefits offered — including 501(c)(3) status for your project.

What are the Benefits?

If you're using Fractured Atlas, you get:

• Tax deductions for contributions on IndieGoGo
• No double fees (Save 9%)
• Automatic IndieGoGo pitch page creation upon opt-in
• Integrated social media and community management/tracking tools

How Does It Work?

Set-Up:

1. Fractured Atlas projects opt-in to the IndieGoGo tool from Fractured Atlas’ website.
2. IndieGoGo campaign pages are automatically started for each project (on IndieGoGo.com).
3. Project owners receive instructions on how to complete and promote their IndieGoGo campaign.
4. All Fractured Atlas campaigns on IndieGoGo receive a Fractured Atlas badge.

Fundraising & Disbursement:

1. All funds contributed to Fractured Atlas projects on IndieGoGo are deposited to Fractured Atlas.
2. For each contribution, IndieGoGo issues a confirmation receipt to the project owner and contributor, and Fractured Atlas issues a tax receipt to the contributor.
3. Fractured Atlas disburses the funds to the project upon the project’s request.

How do I integrate fiscal sponsorship with my IndieGoGo efforts?

What does Fractured Atlas sponsor?

Fractured Atlas supports fiscally sponsored projects that are consistent with its IRS-approved charitable mission. Projects must be artistic in nature and may not be produced solely for commercial gain. The term "project" is used very broadly, and may refer to a one-time project, an ongoing group or company, or even the work and career of an individual artist.

How do donors receive a tax deductible letter?

Donors will receive a confirmation email summarizing their donation amount and perk selection (if applicable). The email will be written in accordance with IRS regulations and serve as the donor's record for tax purposes.
