IndieGoGo’s Community Events at SXSW Austin!

We put a call out to a our IndieGoGo community to see if you were headed down to SXSW and what you'd be up to!  Since we're all going to be in town, we thought we'd outline a program of events so you can all meet each other.  


Ben's Friends

Geared to connect patients suffering from rare diseases and offer an online and offline support system, this platform has become a sanctuary for hundreds of people.  

Friday, March 9 – Panel: Building Community is Easy, Saving the World is Hard – Austin Convention Center



Jefe Greenwood raised to make a documentary film about sign language interpreters for rock music!  Some of the stars of the story will be at Auditorium Shores for 3 big shows.  This event is free and open to the general public.  Watch this video to see what's all about!    



Attendance Records

Jenna Carrens wanted to provide creativity to a school population lacking in the resources to harness this from their everyday education, so she started a student record label to provide an outlet for music, art and writing.

The Brute Chorus

With critical acclaim coming from the likes of Zane Lowe on BBC and accolades in prestigious music press such as NME, Artrocker, Clash Magazine, the band were also artists in residence at John Kennedy's XFM radio show – now they'll be coming to the US for the very first time during SXSW and performing at the IndieGoGo music showcase!

So Many Wizards

This LA-based bedroom pop band have made it to SXSW! Fresh off their tour to the UK playing so many cool venues we might run out of breathe, they'll be hitting Austin, playing our IndieGoGo music showcase.

Time Columns

With a debut album being produced by Emmy Award-winning sound designer Harry Snodgrass (designed sound for Napoleon Dynamite, Alien 3, South Park and hundreds of other projects) these two musicians hold the potential for greatness.

Twitchy Dolphin Films

An Austin-based production company, the team sought local talent for the sound track for Turkey Day, a feature film he raised over $2K to complete. They're hosting a music showcase and including one of the bands that provided music for their project.

Twitchy Dolphin Flix presents Kinetic Entertainment's "I'm Just Sayin"  an "unofficial" SXSW Showcase.  The showcase features a bunch of great artists, including Twitchy Dolphin Favorites TEXAS RENEGADE.  2-10pm – Honkey Tonk – 5th Street

Having reached their goal raising over $10K, this young company are aiming to travel across every state in the US to benefit the Maai Mahiu community in Kenya, a trade route referred to by locals as AIDS highway.

They're holding a showcase with CTC to benefit their project:

Friday, March 9 – CTC Garden – 7 till Late
Including artists such as Seryn (Best Performance 2011), Lamar Stockton and Ryan Edgar. 



Terror Magazine

A quarterly magazine based in Austin is all about female power, talking about culture, art, craft, beauty, fashion and entertainment.  Their first issue will launch 2 weeks after SXSW but look out for them doing their promo on the streets


IndieGoGo Events
