Team Indiegogo’s Campaign Roundup (9/28/12)

Every week, we give team members at Indiegogo an opportunity to talk about the campaigns that have caught their attention. Here’s what we were talking about this week:

Alice/Customer Happiness

Hot Straw – Drink Coffee, Not Plastic!

Location: Denver, Colorado

This campaign is awesome! I love coffee but hate the effect it has on my teeth! What a great idea and I love that it gives back to a good cause.

At the Other Side of Technology

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Ever wonder what happens to your old computer and electronic waste?  This film is helping to uncover the truth behind our waste.

ELIOOO. Grow Your Food

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

With these clean, soil free and compact farming techniques, even New Yorkers can have vegetable gardens!

Location: Berlin, Germany

Ever heard of “worry-free internet?”  In Europe, there’s an interesting law that makes internet hot spot providers (like cafes) liable for illegal activity conducted by users on their internet.  Crazy, huh?  Well these two German entrepreneurs are making it possible for European cafe owners to sleep easy at night.  Funny how the world wide web works so differently across the world 🙂

Classroom Champions: Olympians, Paralympians, Kids – and video cameras!

Location: New York, New York

I am a huge fan of the olympics and always been a supporter of education.  This organization and their campaign really inspire me because they’re facilitating olympians to teach students about goal setting, work ethic, and achieving their dreams.

The Indiana Whiskey Company

Location: South Bend, Indiana

When you think great whiskey, think Indiana.

Location: Hamburg, Germany

I love the idea behind this project that came out of Startup Weekend in Hamburg, which is to create a collaborative online platform to inspire creativity on a global scale.

It Takes Guts: Help Micah Fight A Debilitating Digestive Condition

Location: San Francisco, California

Micah has been involved in projects including Burner Map, Openplaya Wiki, and more. Let’s help him heal, so he can get back to healing the world!
