Branching into the international market isn’t easy and can be intimidating for new entrepreneurs, even if they’re from a country like China that has some of the most innovative companies in the world. Chinese teams are creating consumer products like wearables, smart home items, PCs and mobile accessories, all of which could be very successful among American consumers if exported to the United States. Indiegogo has been helping Chinese companies reach the U.S. since 2015, and is now doing even more to assist Chinese entrepreneurs with two new preferred agencies.
New marketing partnerships in China
What do COWAROBOT, the autonomous suitcase from Shanghai, and XGIMI H1, the high-definition entertainment projector from Beijing, have in common? They were each successful brand launches into the U.S. market, aided by marketing agencies Lemore Lab and Rainfactory. With these two new partnerships, Indiegogo is expanding its program to help Chinese entrepreneurs run crowdfunding campaigns. The XGIMI team worked with Rainfactory to launch H1, their high-definition projector offered at a premium price, to see how they could best sell in the U.S. After selling over $1 million in preorders through Indiegogo, XGIMI H1 went on to win the 2017 CES Innovation Award, and continue to grow their sales through Amazon.
Chinese teams can partner with these agencies to build their presence in the U.S., from creating a company website and writing copy to designing compelling visuals and executing paid advertising. Both agencies can communicate in Mandarin, so entrepreneurs don’t need to be in the U.S. or hire a person outside of China to run their marketing division.
Post-crowdfunding, Indiegogo and marketing partners Rainfactory and Lemore Lab continue to support sales growth for Chinese companies.
