Indiegogo staffers are putting crowdfunded products to the test in our new series of honest reviews. In this edition, Bryant, an Indiegogo Software Engineer, tried out Radiant–theWorld’s First Transflective Monitor. Did it meet his expectations? Read on to find out more.
Display and Visibility: The screen size is ideal, and the display lives up to its promise of being bright and clear. This brightness is particularly beneficial when working outside, significantly improving visibility even under direct sunlight. This feature alone makes the Radiant monitor a standout option for outdoor work. The screen does get really hot when in the sun, but that’s not unexpected when in direct sunlight. I am curious to see if this will be an issue long-term.
Touch Screen Sensitivity: The touch screen is somewhat too sensitive, making navigation a bit tricky. I often find myself inadvertently triggering functions or the desktop when I didn’t intend to. I end up relying more on my laptop’s trackpad or an external mouse. This necessity adds a bit of complexity to my outdoor setup, which is a minor inconvenience.
Stand and Maneuverability: The monitor comes with a sturdy stand, which is a definite plus. However, it’s somewhat challenging to maneuver and achieve the exact placement I desire. Fine-tuning the angle or position requires a bit more effort than I anticipated.
Connectivity: One of the great features of the Radiant monitor is its compatibility with various devices. It offers both USB-C and HDMI connection options, providing flexibility depending on the devices I need to connect. This versatility is highly convenient and adds to the monitor’s overall appeal.
Despite a few minor drawbacks with the touchscreen sensitivity and the stand’s maneuverability, I would still recommend the Radiant monitor. It excels in providing excellent outdoor visibility and offers versatile connectivity options. I am enjoying the ability to work outside and look forward to continuing to explore its capabilities.
