Fractured Atlas serves a national community of over 18,000 artists and arts organizations. This national nonprofit provides access to fiscal sponsorship, insurance, advocacy, technology, education, and more. Fractured Atlas knows how to help artists reach their goals, from filmmakers to musicians to dancers to arts educators. Working with IndieGoGo gives Fractured Atlas members even more fundraising choices.

IndieGoGo and Fractured Atlas partner to combine the best of crowdfunding and fiscal sponsorship. Fiscal sponsorship allows artistic projects to seek funding and donations that are typically available only to 501(c)(3) organizations. Maintaining 501(c)(3) status is time-consuming, expensive, and hard for many emerging organizations and artists. Fiscal sponsorship lets artists focus on what they do best – creative work. Over 500 fiscally sponsored projects have launched an IndieGoGo campaign, allowing them to offer tax-deductible benefits to their supporters. For more information on fiscal sponsorship, review this online application.

In addition to fiscal sponsorship, Fractured Atlas offers many resources for artists and creatives.  Artful.ly is a system for managing your tickets, donations, and contacts launching later this year. Fractured U online courses teach skills in fundraising, marketing, and professional identity.

Fractured Atlas projects have raised over 1 million dollars through the IndieGoGo partnership since 2010! Executive Director Adam Huttler says "Fractured Atlas is thrilled to be partnering with IndieGoGo. With access to IndieGoGo's crowdfunding platform, our sponsored artists have a fabulous channel for raising charitable support for their work." Member Amanda Feldman adds, “The IndieGoGo Fractured Atlas marriage worked really really well for us! It's totally genius on both of your parts.”

Some of Fractured Atlas’s favorite campaigns include:

The Arctic Cycle
How do you make climate change real? Six plays set in six locales around the Arctic reveal the impact of environmental changes. Remote communities on the edge of the earth inspire vibrant theater in English, French and Inuktitut. Fundraising for a 17 day research and writing trip exceeded the goal in just five days!

Parijat Desai Dance Company
Are you ready for an adventure? Based in New York, this dance company is embarking on their first-ever tour of India. Blending Indian classical and American modern dance, PDDC has been a Fractured Atlas member since 2007. Offering perks from the visual artist Sej, they met their goal and are headed on a great journey!

Lake Water
Can art prevent tragedy? This play explores sexuality, suicide, and small town isolation in a Minnesota community. Using homespun midwestern recipes as perks, this campaign easily reached its goal. Mirroring the experiences of many LGBT youth, this project is headed to the IRT Theater in New York this fall.
