With only 7 days to go till Thanksgiving there has been a trend in campaigns geared towards giving, eating and doing good. Quintessentially an American holiday, the last Thursday of November, no matter the nationality signals a time in America where families, strangers and diverse communities join in one delicious meal and a reminder that there's much to be thankful for.

We’ve uncovered three campaigns currently running on IndieGoGo that are looking to celebrate this special holiday in their own way:

Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless
Location: New York, USA

The S.H.A.R.E Project’s goal is to involve high school students and youth in community service.  The annual Thanksgiving Dinner they host for the Homeless is run by over 300 student volunteers feeding more than 500 men, children from all five boroughs of New York and Westchester.

Mama G’s Thanksgiving Street Dinner 2011
Location: San Francisco, USA

This annual celebration draws together the community becoming bringing a Thanksgiving dinner to over 500 people in the Tenderloin neighborhood.  Instead of contributing, the Founder and Organizer offer the opportunity for supporters to provide a receipe of their favorite Thanksgiving dish or even to cook your favorite dish for the table on November 20th

Hope Community Center Thanksgiving
Location: Florida, USA

This incredible local organization works directly with refugees by teaching English as a Second Language, lessons and various activities to build a community.  They’re raising to produce a big feast to celebrate together!
