Segway-Ninebot has delighted Indiegogo backers over the years with a slew of amazing projects. So it’s no wonder that the company’s latest Indiegogo campaigns have already shattered their goals. The company is currently raising funds for four awesome projects designed to take users where they want to go in fun, new ways: the Ninebot Gokart PRO, the Segway eMoped C80, the Ninebot Air T15 KickScooter, and the Ninebot KickScooter ES2. 

We sat down with the Segway-Ninebot team to learn more about the Ninebot Gokart PRO. Check it out!

What inspired you to build the Ninebot Gokart PRO?

We launched a go-kart on Indiegogo back in 2018, called the Ninebot Electric Gokart. It was a huge success, and we wanted to take it one step further to develop a product with more powerful features for our true go-karting fanatics. We spent over two years with professional go-kart racers on the racetrack to create the Gokart PRO, which far surpasses the original version in appearance, acceleration, and endurance. 

What makes the Ninebot Gokart PRO different from its predecessor?

Redesigned from the ground up, the Gokart PRO is a complete overhaul from its predecessor. Some feature highlights include:

• Maximum acceleration of 1.02 G – Go-kart enthusiasts can experience acceleration like never before with the Ninebot Gokart PRO. The Gokart PRO comes with a top speed of 23 mph and 15.5 miles of range within one single charge. On the track, it can easily outperform a 150cc gas-powered go-kart.
• 432 Wh capacity air-cooled battery pack – The Gokart PRO battery is a powerhouse, featuring 4 air-ducts, and clocking in with a capacity of 432 Wh.
• 20,000-mile professional race track test – We logged more than 20,000 miles on a professional race track with the Gokart PRO over the course of two years, allowing us to ensure that the Gokart PRO can reach new heights of performance.
• Tested by a professional go-kart racer. We’ve tested the Gokart PRO extensively with a professional go-kart racer to see that it performs on various road surface types and exceeds expectations overall. Our professional racer assisted in fine-tuning the go-kart with our engineering team, to optimize everything from steering to durability.

Why are you raising funds on Indiegogo?

We wanted to introduce the Ninebot Gokart PRO to the Indiegogo community, just like we did with our original go-kart two years ago. Ultimately, we want to get this new product in front of its long-time fans and see how they react to it. 

So far, we have launched seven projects on Indiegogo. Each time, early backers have shown enormous support for our products. Our backers are the backbone of our campaigns and without their support, we wouldn’t have gone this far. Throughout the campaigns, we have accumulated many great Segway loyal fans, and they are genuinely a part of the Segway family. We want to show our appreciation by giving back to the Segway-Ninebot community through innovative products that will truly bring joy to our supporters. We also hope to launch more exciting products through crowdfunding platforms in the future. 

Tell us about your Indiegogo campaign so far.

Within the first 12 hours of the campaign’s launch, we successfully raised over $500K, and then reached $1M in just 9 days. It’s such an exciting accomplishment that far exceeded our expectations. However, what is most  important to us is the delivery of a product beloved by our backers, whose input motivates us to work even harder and consistently improve. As we read the comments and learned that several backers who have been supporting us from the beginning had purchased five new Gokarts for their entire family to enjoy, we couldn’t contain our excitement. Our backers have been, and always will be, our inspiration. 

What do you appreciate about the Indiegogo community?

We value the Indiegogo community because the crowdfunding platform has helped us grow as a company. Moreover, the Indiegogo community has witnessed every milestone we have achieved over the years, which is heartwarming to our team. Getting real feedback from backers is something we will always be grateful for, and we will always appreciate the platform’s transparency. It’s so gratifying to learn that backers are excited and looking forward to experiencing our Gokart PRO. Reflecting on our past experiences and coming back with enhanced products is the best way to show our appreciation for their loyal support. Despite the current global pandemic and the challenges it poses to logistics internationally, we are doing everything we can to ensure that our backers receive their orders as quickly as possible. We want to demonstrate our gratitude for their patience and support.
