Today, I’m announcing that I am transitioning away from my position as CEO at Indiegogo and stepping into an advisory role at the end of this month. As an advisor, I’ll be focused on helping our team launch exciting new initiatives in the coming months. Our mission to empower people to unite around ideas that matter to them, and together bring those ideas to life still resonates with me today, as it did two and half years ago when I joined. My mandate as CEO was primarily focused on two areas: (1) recenter the company’s focus on product and (2) achieve financial stability and rebuild the balance sheet.

Over the last two and half years we have done just that, innovating on our product offerings in Community and Trust while achieving profitability and bolstering our cash reserves. Recognizing we needed to reinvest in what our community of entrepreneurs and enthusiasts wanted most, the team has been hyper focused on building a track record of trust and success with our users. Over three quarters of our team have joined under my tenure, and I’m proud of the energy, grit, and new culture that was founded during my time here. Indiegogo is positioned well for an exciting future so this is an opportune time to bring on new leadership.

I’ll be handing the reins to our CFO, Jonathan Jue, who will serve as Interim CEO. Jon has spent 15 years in technology as an operator, finance leader, and consultant at Fortune 500 companies and startups across multiple industries including technology, retail, and financial services. For the past three and a half years he’s led Finance and Operations at Indiegogo, preparing the company for sustainable growth and expansion. Jon has been a great partner and steward for Indiegogo during my tenure and I know he and the team will take the company to new heights.

Today, more than ever, Indiegogo is positioned to help innovators and backers connect with each other. Countless entrepreneurs have launched their brands and businesses to global audiences and allowed backers to lean into their passions at Indiegogo. Early on in the pandemic, we launched the Local Business Relief Program that helped businesses affected by COVID-19 raise over $1.6M funds, demonstrating how flexible and resourceful our team can be. I know that this company is poised for amazing things and we will continue to search for and amplify inspiring people, stories, ideas, and products from around the globe.

It’s truly been a privilege to be a part of this company and I look forward to backing many more campaigns in the future.

Andy
