The Philippines and Vietnam face a grim path to recovery in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest storms in recorded history, which hit the Philippines on November 8th, killing over 2,300 people and leaving over 673,000 homeless.
People around the world are creating campaigns on Indiegogo to generate funds and build support for the recovery effort. Here’s a small sampling of the many campaigns going on now:
Help 99designs donate to Typhoon Haiyan relief
The Philippines is home to one of the most active and talented designer communities for 99designs. They will match your donation to their campaign and contribute funds to the American Red Cross Typhoon Appeal. Give $1 and they’ll make it $2. Give $50 and they’ll make it $100!
Aid for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines
Todd Barselow is an American who has made the Philippines his home for the last five years. He would like to raise funds to help the Filipino people with food, water, clothing and basic essentials.
Help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in The Philippines
Chris Lister is a singer-songwriter based in Singapore, and he’s written a song dedicated to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. He has a personal connection to this disaster, as his wife and daughter are both from the Philippines, a place he calls home. Please help raise funds and awareness of this campaign by listening, liking, sharing and purchasing the song featured on his campaign page.
connect.PH: Typhoon Haiyan
Isabel, Adela, and Chiara Binamira are three Filipinos who have recently come home to Cebu City after studying abroad. All proceeds from this campaign will go directly toward relief efforts in Northern Cebu. The money will buy rice, canned goods, water, medicine, and clothes.
Let’s support the people affected by Typhoon Haiyan by contributing, sharing or starting campaigns on Indiegogo. Together we can make a big difference!
