President Obama Speaks at the White House Maker Faire
About the White House Maker Faire:
The White House Maker Faire enables private and public action to increase the number of maker communities nationally, as well as empower makers with the tools and resources to turn their ideas into real, scalable productions. Last month alone, Indiegogo’s maker community debuted many campaigns to great success – including New Matter, GOkey, and DIMPLE – and we’re thrilled the White House recognizes the importance of these dreamers, thinkers, and doers.
Scott and Julie Brusaw of the Solar Roadways campaign will be attending the White House Maker Faire in honor of their revolutionary initiative that has raised over $2 million on Indiegogo. President Obama will host the first White House Maker Faire today where he will meet with a select group of America’s makers in recognition of their contributions to innovation.
Scott and Julie Brusaw Meet Bill Nye
In addition to hosting the event, the White House has designated June 18 as a nationwide Day of Making. Everyone who can’t be in Washington for the Maker Faire can stay involved on Twitter via #NationOfMakers and our own Maker Challenge tag, #GoMaker.
