Indiegogo Stands with Ukraine (And How You Can Help)

By

Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian people have found themselves living in unimaginable horror. Hundreds of thousands of Ukranians have been displaced or separated from their families. Untrained civilians have been fighting deadly skirmishes with Russian invaders in an effort to protect their homes. Refugees from Afghanistan and other areas of recent conflict who have been living in Ukraine must again flee violence. And countless numbers have been hiding in bomb shelters and subway stations to stay safe.

Indiegogo stands with the people of Ukraine and the rest of the international community, and we stand with the non-profit organizations bringing aid to the region at this critical time. Indiegogo is committed to creating a supportive space for ideas from around the world, and the world needs peace and safety in order to nurture its best ideas.

The invasion is bringing together people around the world in a global antiwar effort that displays a compassionate humanitarianism that can give us all hope. Here are some ways that you can get involved and help:

UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)

“The UN Refugee Agency established a presence in Ukraine in 1994. In 2002, Ukraine ratified the 1951 Convention relating to the status of refugees and its 1967 Protocol. In 2011, Ukraine adopted a law which regulates the treatment of refugees and other persons of concern. In 2013, Ukraine ratified two UN Conventions relating to the status of stateless persons (1954) and on the reduction of statelessness (1961). The role of UNHCR in Ukraine is to advise and assist the Government as well as to monitor the implementation of the country’s international responsibilities relating to the protection of refugees.”
