‘Squattertown’: World’s First Dim Sum Western
Sparmberg had an idea: why not pay homage to the glory days of Hong Kong cinema by creating an entirely new genre? The result is “Squattertown”, a “dim sum Western” web series that will premiere at the end of June. The funding for the web series will come through IndieGoGo.

Partho’s Project Raises 21K USD Through Crowdfunding on IndieGoGo
The crowd-funding campaign for Partho Sengupta’s project Sunrise (Arunoday) on crowd funding website indiegogo.com ended with a total of $21, 000 on May 29, 2011. Written and directed by Partho Sen-Gupta, the film addresses the issue of child abuse in India and is expected to go into production this winter.

Montgomery-based instrumental band wants to cook dinner for you
In exchange for helping fund the release of their debut album, “Hymns of Mare Nostrum,” Montgomery-based instrumental band Hail the Titans have offered different ways to show appreciation, including cooking dinner. The band just launched a campaign through IndieGoGo to collect contributions that will go toward the CD release of the album, due out in late summer.
